Update: Book and Movie News.

We haven’t had any movie news in awhile, and there are a few things worth noting.

Speaking of the Hunger Games movie (because, really. Who isn’t?), TICKETS GO ON SALE FEBRUARY 22! I can solemnly promise you I’ll have my tickets to the midnight showing (if the theater near me does, in fact, offer one).

If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the trailer. I dare you to not get goosebumps.

Dear God. I have to see this movie… now-ish.

In other movie news, for all you sci-fi fanatics out there, the Ender’s Game movie (2013) has built quite an impressive cast. Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Harrison Ford, Abigail Breslin, and Brendan Meyer have all signed up to star in the film. I’m not big on sci-fi novels, but I’m betting this is going to be one to watch for with all the star power behind it.

Because we all know I love to rant and speculate about who will be cast as Lucinda Price in the Fallen adaptation, I just thought I’d mention that Hannah Marks is now rumored to be the new Luce. Marks has been in a smattering of TV shows here and there, and it seems Fallen would be her big claim to fame. So now we’ll just have to wait and see who will replace Marks and be the next rumored star will be to play Luce. Maybe I should start a Luce of the Month Club… *rubs chin thoughtfully*

And in general bookishness, Lish McBride is working on the sequel to Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, tentatively titled Necromancing the Stone. Which is an awesome title if ever I heard one.

That’s all for today gang!

  1. I am so excited about the Hunger Games movie I can barely stand it! I’ve never read Ender’s Game, but that looks like an all-star cast if I’ve ever seen one. A Fallen adaptation would be great… but I don’t know if I could get behind them making making all 4 books into movies; it would be great to see Daniel come to life though! And finally… Necromancing the Stone is probably the best, most awesome title for a book since… well, since ever!

  2. I have to admit, I was pumped before, but that was before I got my expectations too high. Now that I’ve seen the trailer, I’m running around making everyone watch it screaming, “ISN’T THIS FULL OF EPIC WIN?!” I love the Necromancing the Stone title. I read the first half of the first one and never got around to finishing it, so I’m determined to have it read by the time the sequel comes out. So many books, so little time… :)
